The Philadelphia Eagles could still be in play to land Kansas City Chiefs star cornerback L'Jarius Sneed.

Per Bleacher Report's Jordan Schultz, the Chiefs placed a $19 million franchise tag on Sneed as of Wednesday morning, but they are still open to trading him.

One of the Eagles' top priorities this offseason is upgrading their cornerback room and landing Sneed would immediately check off that box.

Sure, it would cost the Eagles a lump sum but with the increased salary cap and some roster cuts on the way, it's not impossible.

It helps that Eagles players are also on board with having Sneed come play for Philly and have been recruiting him through text messaging (via JAKIB Sports).

Sneed has been with Kansas City since he was drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

His versatility has shown that he can be used both in the slot and outside, which makes him even more valuable to the Eagles.

Through 16 games in 2023, Sneed logged a combined 78 tackles, five tackles for loss, 14 passes defended, and two interceptions.

Sneed and the Chiefs have until 4 p.m. ET on July 15 to make their deal official, but a trade or final contract decision is likelier to happen much sooner than that.
