Ohio State is at it again on the recruiting trail. The Buckeyes have offered yet another five star quarterback prospect. What does this mean for the quarterback room in the near future?

Heading into spring practice Ohio State is stacked at quarterback. They brought in veteran Will Howard from Kansas State who has nearly 30 starts under his belt. They return both high pedigree quarterbacks Devin Brown and Lincoln Kienholz from last year's roster. And on top of that trio, they're bringing in Top 60 recruit Air Noland and five star Julian Sayin (via Alabama transfer) as true freshman in the 2024 recruiting class.

Will Howard looks like the clear starter for this fall, but Ohio State has a handful of future options to choose from already on campus in-waiting. That didn't stop head coach Ryan Day and Ohio State from thinking ahead by offering five star quarterback Brady Smigiel (Newbury Park High School, Class of 2026).

Who is Brady Smigiel?

He's a young man who has widely been considered a top two or three quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class for over a year now. Smigiel blew away top competition as a true freshman scoring 51 total touchdowns and completing 66% of his passes in his first high school season. He then followed up that effort by scoring another 53 total touchdowns, throwing for over 4200 yards in just 14 games as a sophomore.

The young superstar-in-the-making has already amassed 28 FBS college football scholarship offers and they're still flowing in fast.

The Buckeyes will have their work cut out for them if they want to secure this young star, but Ryan Day has certainly proven in recent years that he doesn't exactly struggle when it comes to bringing in the best quarterbacks across the nation.

Michigan, Oregon, and Georgia surprisingly offered Smigiel around a year earlier than the Buckeyes, but there are no clear front runners in Smigiel's recruiting process as of today.
