The New Orleans Saints opened a scary door earlier this offseason. With a restructuring of star cornerback Marshon Lattimore's contract, a potential trade became an option for the organization.
Recent comments from Deebo Samuel should turn the Saints off of that idea. Samuel, a top wideout in the NFL, named Lattimore as one of the best three CBs he has faced in the league.
Of course, his sentiment is not the only reason they should not trade Lattimore. Additionally, he is their best player in the secondary.
Paulson Adebo and Alontae Taylor are great as CB2/CB3, but they'd be limited as the top two options at corner for New Orleans. Not to mention, they would need an immense amount of support from their cornerback depth if one of those two got injured in the near future. It's the NFL. Players deal with injuries, and that is unavoidable.

Regardless, even with the potential cap relief that trading Lattimore would give the Saints, it would not be worth it to move on. Find a different way to create space and field a solid roster in 2024.
New Orleans should listen to Deebo and understand that top-flight CBs do not grow on trees. A talent like Lattimore is extremely difficult to replace.
