247Sports made quite the prediction for former Tennessee Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh this week.

The national sports media outlet made their early predictions for the 2024 12-team playoff and they think Golesh will lead USF to their first playoff appearance next season.

247Sports has USF making the playoff as the AAC champion (which would give them an automatic bid) and facing Oregon in the first round.

From 247Sports: There is a lot to like with what former Tennessee assistant Alex Golesh built down there in Tampa. He out-recruited every other Group of Five program in the 2024 cycle and with reigning conference champion SMU moving on to the ACC and questions around Tulane following Willie Fritz's departure to Houston, that strong league is wide open.

Golesh just completed his first season as the head coach at USF after spending two seasons as Tennessee's offensive coordinator.

USF went 7-6 in Golesh's first season, which was extremely impressive considering the Bulls went 1-11 the year before Golesh's arrival in Tampa.

Winning the AAC seems like a very realistic scenario for USF in 2024. If Golesh leads the Bulls to the College Football Playoff next season, he'll instantly become one of the most sought-after head coaches in college football.
