The Jacksonville Jaguars may have just fixed one of their biggest issues from the 2023-24 season, and the offseason just started.

As soon as their offseason began, the Jaguars fired defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell along with a lot of his staff. So, immediately, the Jaguars started looking for their next defensive coordinator for 2024.

On Monday, they found him. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jaguars are hiring former Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Ryan Nielson, who turned around the Falcons defense last season.

Falcons played man defense 58.3% of the time last year, which was the third highest in the league last season. Just so you can see how different that is compared to Caldwell's defense: the Jaguars played man just 31.8% of the time, 31st in the league.

It's safe to say they are going in a different direction defensively, and they certainly have some of the personnel to do it.
