Not only did Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson beat the Houston Texans in the divisional round on Saturday, he did so in historic fashion:
Well, Lamar wasn't shy about letting the media know he heard all the noise about his lack of postseason success, as he now has put an end to that narrative:
Who's Laughing Now
"You know I heard that. I don't even have to hear it, I see it," said Jackson when asked about the narrative that he doesn't perform well in the postseason. "It is what it is. I really don't care about what people say. I'm trying to win day in and day out, every time I'm on that field. We just have to stay locked in on what's ahead of us."
What's ahead of the Ravens and Lamar is a spot in the AFC championship, the first of his career.
Up until Saturday, Jackson had only one playoff win, which is less than the amount of MVP trophies he's about to have.
But instead of succumbing to the noise, Jackson has continued to put his head down and grind.
When people said he was too slight to play QB in the league, he hit the weights and put on 20 pounds.
When NFL evaluators said he should switch positions from QB to WR, Jackson won MVP in his first full year as a starting QB, and was only 22 years old.
And now that people have admitted he's a great regular season QB, it's come with the caveat that he can't get it done when it matters most.
Well, Jackson answered once again, making NFL history and punching his team's ticket to within one game of the Super Bowl.
Maybe it's time to stop doubting what a healthy Lamar Jackson can do, and start asking what can't he do.
