Numerous Kentucky Wildcats players made a big mistake last Saturday before playing the Tennessee Vols.
And that mistake almost certainly fired the Vols up before a big road game in Lexington.
As Tennessee's players prepared to make their way onto the field, several Kentucky players gathered in front of the tunnel where the Vols were set to make their entrance.
When Tennessee finally ran onto the field, those Kentucky players started taunting the Vols while doing some pushing and shoving.
One of the Kentucky players that was standing outside of the tunnel was Barion Brown, a Tennessee native who spurned the Vols during the recruiting process.
Brown seems to have some animosity toward Tennessee for unknown reasons.
“I just know Tennessee fans, they don’t like me because I committed here,” said Brown to Herald-Leader before the 2022 season. “But I feel like it was the best for me. My mom and dad didn’t want me to stay in Tennessee. I just feel like it was the best decision for me.”
Tennessee ended up beating Kentucky 33-27 last Saturday night after the Wildcats' pregame intimidation tactics failed.
Maybe next time they'll realize that poking the bear before a big game is a poor idea.
