Deshaun Watson’s second season with the Cleveland Browns was cut short on Wednesday. The Browns announced that Watson is set to undergo shoulder surgery, and he will miss the remainder of the season.
The Browns turned many doubters into believers following their road win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10. But now with Watson ruled out for the rest of the year, Cleveland is back to being a longshot to win the AFC North.
As noted by ESPN Bet, the Browns have the worst odds (+500) to finish the campaign atop the AFC North standings. The Ravens, who currently sit in first place in the AFC North with a 7-3 record, boast the best odds (-110) to take home the division for the first time since the 2019 season.
The Browns could boost their AFC North odds in Week 11. With a victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers coupled with a Cincinnati Bengals win against the Ravens, Cleveland would move into first place in the division and also hold the No. 2 seed in the AFC.
The Ravens are still in the driver’s seat in the AFC North, and they would hold the No. 1 seed in the AFC after Week 11 with a victory over Cincinnati coupled with a Philadelphia Eagles win against the Kansas City Chiefs.
On the Ravens’ part, they will look to complete a regular season series sweep over Cincinnati on Thursday.
