The Kansas City Chiefs got some welcomed news ahead of practice on Wednesday.

The team is preparing to face a talented Jacksonville Jaguars team and it'll be all hands on deck to start the week. While the team will be missing one player from practice, they'll welcome back two more according to Chiefs HC Andy Reid.

"I don't really have any significant injuries," Reid began, during his Wednesday presser. "Clyde (Edwards-Helaire) is ill, so he won't be at practice today."

Reid was first asked about the status of Chiefs DT Chris Jones, who ended his holdout upon the agreement of a new contract for 2023. Jones is expected to practice and play in Week 2, assuming there are no fitness-related setbacks.

"I'm going to see how he is today, but I presume he'll be out there," Reid said of Jones. "Playing (in Week 2). Then, we'll just see."

No. 95 won't be the only player returning to practice on Wednesday, though. Reid confirmed what star TE Travis Kelce shared on the latest episode of "New Heights." He's making progress and will at least participate in a limited capacity to start the practice week.

"Trav (Kelce) did do the walkthrough," Reid said. "He's going to go out to practice today and do that. He's made progress. We're just taking those guys day-by-day and we'll see how they're doing."

As for what the team is getting in Jones' return to action, let's just say everyone is glad to have him back.

"Yeah, Chris (Jones) is a good football player," Reid said. "So, having him back in. He's an important part of it. We're glad he's back. We'll just see where he's at physically, he normally keeps himself in pretty good shape. We'll see how he does out there today."

Reid says that he and the rest of the team didn't take any of the business side of things personally and that they're welcoming Jones back with open arms.
