When speaking to the media on Monday, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni provided an update on starting right guard Cam Jurgens, who suffered a foot injury against the Washington Commanders.

"I would say Cam’s going to be week-to-week," Sirianni said. "We’ll see…I don’t usually talk too much on here with it, but we’ll get you more information as we know more. It’s still early in the week. So, we’ll see there."

That doesn't sound too promising as the Eagles prepare to face Los Angeles Rams' All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald

If Jurgens is unavailable this week, then Sirianni said Eagles' veteran backup Sua Opeta will get the start, whom Sirianni was very pleased with on Sunday when he stepped in for the injured Jurgens.

"Sua would be that next man up," Sirianni said, "and I thought he played outstanding yesterday. I mean, outstanding.

"I think we all felt that in the game, and you watch it on tape, and you verify that and confirm that. Even Lane [Johnson] came up to me in the locker room after the game — and Lane played outstanding, also — Lane came up to me after the game and was singing the praises of Sua. So, we recognize it as coaches when we get to watch it. I know his teammates recognized it in-game. So, excellent job by him to come in and play a great game."

Opeta has made just four career starts since he entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2019.

Rookie guard Tyler Steen could also suit up alongside Opeta as an extra boost and potentially make his first NFL debut as an Eagle in Week 5.
