The Philadelphia Eagles signed linebacker Shaquille Leonard on Monday, but general manager Howie Roseman is never done working the phones.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Howie and the Eagles have inquired about former Arizona Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz

Although, Ertz is "still evaluating his options," Fowler reports.

It would be a "welcome back" party for Ertz, whom the Eagles drafted in 2013 before trading him away to Arizona in 2021. After three bust seasons playing for the Cardinals, Ertz requested to be released last week with hopes of joining a contender.

The Birds could use a boost to their tight end room with injuries looming as they make their way to a post-season.

Ertz has been on Injured Reserve with a quad injury and hasn't played since Week 7, though he was eligible to return from IR last week.

Before he was injured, Ertz had logged 27 catches for 187 yards and one touchdown through seven games.
