The last time the New York Jets saw the Miami Dolphins, things did not go well. In the NFL’s first ever Black Friday game, the Jets got pummeled by Miami by a final of 34-13.

The Jets went deeper into the crevasse following the game by staying with Tim Boyle before turning back to a Zach Wilson and seeing some signs of life in the offense last week against the Houston Texans.

Now the Jets will look to keep that offensive momentum going as they travel to Miami and keep their marginal playoff hopes alive.

While the Jets are riding high coming into this game after their win last week, the Dolphins suffered one of the worst collapses in recent memory as they blew a 27-13 lead to the Tennessee Titans with less than three minutes left in a 28-27 loss on Monday night.

Moreover, the Dolphins may be without their most important weapon on offense as wide receiver Tyreek Hill is dealing with an ankle injury that kept him on the sideline for most of the game against the Titans. Hill has a case for NFL MVP this season and is a shoe in for Offensive Player of the Year.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said ultimately it will be a game-time decision for Hill who is listed as questionable for this week. "Bottom line is we'll have a conversation that will be based on — remember, this is Tyreek Hill's career," McDaniel said. "He's a very experienced player. I handle very experienced players different than I handle younger guys, because they know what they signed up for and it's his career.

"If he's confident that he can go be himself, and I have the support of the trainers that are responsible to the risk, then he'll play. If not, then he won't, and literally every hour, for him, is imperative."

Hill said he wasn't able to cut and change directions at his normal speed he is known for but added that he will not sit out Sunday if he can help it.

"That's never something that I would be thinking about," Hill said Monday. "But if the trainers come to me, if they see something in the scans whenever I get these scans, they say, 'Hey, Reek, you can sit out,' I do it. But me being me, I don't want to sit out.

"I want to be able to help this team any way I can, and that's just who I am. I just don't want to miss any games."

For the Jets, they will hope that Zach Wilson’s performance last week, which earned him AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors, wasn’t a one-week fluke.

“This is a good challenge for us, but I think we’re all excited for it,” Wilson said. “I love competing, I love playing with the guys in this locker room. I love making the plays and doing the tough things and winning.”

The Jets will be lucky to, at best, see a hampered Tyreek Hill go up against their top-level defense which held the Houston Texans to six points. If the offense can look like it did last week, they have a chance to pull off the upset and keep their playoff hopes alive.

When Joe Douglas took over as General Manager of the New York Jets back in 2019, he had a long laundry list of things to fix from the previous regime. But one thing stood out more than all the others: the offensive line. Joe came into a team that had little to no investment along […]
