Lamar Jackson made a bit of history during the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 12 road win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Jackson entered the game needing a mere 28 rushing yards to reach 5,000 such yards in his career. He would also join Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, and Michael Vick as the only quarterbacks in NFL history to record at least 5,000 rushing yards.
It took Jackson a while, but he logged the 5,000th rushing yard of his career during the second half of the contest.
Jackson was asked during his postgame press conference on just what it meant to become the fourth passer ever to reach this feat, and he kept it simple with his response.
"Cool," Jackson said.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Jackson did note that joining the 5,000 rushing yards club would be special.
"I'm in line with the greats, so that's pretty cool," Jackson said. "No doubt. I'm cool with that, that's nice."
Jackson ended up leading Baltimore to a 20-10 victory against the Chargers. He did not fill up the stat sheet with video-game-like numbers, but he did record 216 total yards and one passing touchdown in the contest.

Plenty of potential.
