The Saints offense consistently got off to slow starts. It has plagued them all season, and it even dates back to last year.
Derek Carr has played extremely well in the first half. Against a division rival, Carr is 17/21 for 140 passing yards and two touchdowns. Both TDs were impressive completions.
He's played one of his best games as a Saint, and he deserves credit.
Tight end Juwan Johnson is showing why he got a ton of praise in the offseason as well. He totaled 70 yards and a TD in the first half. The Saints were rolling on the majority of their drives.
Additionally, the Saints defense has shown up in a major way. The Bucs totaled just 45 yards in the first half. Their run game has been nonexistent, and Baker Mayfield threw an interception.
New Orleans must win this week and next week + have the Buccaneers lose to the Carolina Panthers next week to win the division. Crazier things have happened in the NFL.
