Various reports earlier this week indicated that former Tennessee Vols quarterback Kaidon Salter, who has played for Liberty the past three seasons, was planning to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
247Sports' Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer, however, reported on Friday evening that Salter withdrew his name from the portal.
Salter was expected to be a coveted player in the portal after passing for 2,876 yards and 32 touchdowns against just six interceptions in 2023. He also rushed for 1,089 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Auburn, where Salter would've been reunited with former Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze, was one of the programs that was expected to be in the mix to land the talented young quarterback.
Salter, who signed with Tennessee during the 2021 recruiting cycle, was dismissed from the team by head coach Josh Heupel before ever playing a snap for the Vols after two separate drug-related incidents.
