Isaiah Likely has risen to the occasion for the Baltimore Ravens this season.
The Ravens called on Likely to fill in for Mark Andrews after the veteran tight end suffered an ankle injury during their home matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Ravens later sidelined Andrews for the remainder of the regular season.
Likely has since emerged as a go-to target for Lamar Jackson. The second-year tight end caught 15 passes from Jackson for 251 receiving yards and four touchdowns in the month of December. He then went on to build formidable chemistry with Tyler Huntley in the Ravens’ home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, tallying two receptions for 31 receiving yards and one touchdown catch.
Huntley has been pleased to see Likely add another dimension to Baltimore’s well-rounded offense.
"He’s a great player," Huntley said after the Ravens’ loss to the Steelers. "You just try to get the ball to him and see what he can do. He made a couple of guys miss [and] got off of him, and he scored.
"It’s nice to have an element like that on the team."
The Ravens are now looking ahead to hosting a playoff game in the AFC divisional round. On Likely’s part, he has one goal in mind for Baltimore’s upcoming playoff run.
"My main thing is to be on the same page with Lamar and just make sure we are together," Likely said on Saturday.
Likely recorded 30 receptions for 411 receiving yards and five touchdowns over 17 regular season games played this year.
