Less than two hours after rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy was reported to be out for the season, the Minnesota Vikings suffered another potentially brutal injury. Wide receiver Jordan Addison was carted off on Wednesday afternoon after going up for a pass. He was initially hobbling off with trainers before getting on the cart.
Things are not going well for the Vikings right now. Losing McCarthy hurts a lot but he might not have played during the season. It stinks for his development but not all hope is lost.
The Vikings potentially losing Addison for any length of time would be brutal for them. When you look at the depth chart, the Vikings are getting thin on the outside. After Justin Jefferson, Jalen Nailor and Brandon Powell are the next two up. It's tough sledding and it appears that the offense struggled after that.
