NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Titans announced a series of seven new hires to the football staff as well as multiple promotions from within the organization on Thursday morning.

Among the new hires is A.J. Highsmith, who will join the organization as the new Director of Scouting.

Highsmith previously worked with Titans GM Ran Carthon with the San Francisco 49ers, giving him ties to and trust within the new regime.

Highsmith also spent five seasons climbing the ranks as a scout with the Buffalo Bills. He is now expected to have responsibilities at both the college and pro levels with Tennessee.

Prior to his scouting days, Highsmith was a football player at the University of Miami. In 2013, he was the recipient of the Hurricane Media "Good Guy" Award.

Highsmith's father, Alonzo, is a former NFL fullback and currently a high-ranking executive with the New England Patriots.
