We all know how legendary Drew Brees was during his time in the NFL. The New Orleans Saints will always be grateful for his services on and off the field. This season, he will be officially inducted into the team's Hall of Fame. Expect his name to be added to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the future, too.
The decision, of course, is no surprise. Brees is the most accomplished QB in team history, and he was one of the most statistically-impressive QB of his generation. His name belongs in the conversation as a top ten quarterback in NFL history.
Brees is tied with seven other players for most passing TDs in a game (7), as well as the most 5,000-yard passing seasons (5) and most consecutive games with a TD pass (54).
He was one of the best quarterbacks of his generation, and he deserves credit for building the Saints into a consistent force in the NFC during much of his tenure.
Drew Brees had a special season in 2009
Check out Brees' stats from 2009 below
- 4,388 passing yards
- 34 passing TDs
- 70.6% completion percentage
- 82.0 QBR
- Saints' first SB title
- Super Bowl XLIV MVP
The NFL social media account made sure to show him love earlier this week for his special season. It was one of the best in Saints franchise history. Check out the highlights.
It's nice to see the league highlight one of the greatest guys and players from the late 2000s and 2010s. Brees spent a lot of time at the top of the NFL from a statistic standpoint.
We will see when Brees lands in Canton, but Saints fans don't need to worry about an "if" there – rather just the "when" it happens.
