The Ohio State Buckeyes have logged five straight recruiting classes inside the top five and it looks like they're going to do it again. And not only that, with each new commitment it's looking like the Buckeyes might just finish with the number one overall recruiting class in 2025. They already boast three top ten recruits in the entire country with Tavien St. Clair at quarterback, plus two cornerbacks in Devin Sanchez and Na'eem Offord. This weekend they added more to the fire.
According to multiple sources, high four star safety Faheem Delane from Olney, Maryland has committed to Ryan Day and the Buckeyes. Delane is the fifth Top 50 and eighth Top 100 recruit committed to Ohio State for 2025 according to both the 247SportsComposite and On3 Consensus.
Faheem Delane is a huge win for Ohio State as he was still in the middle of his official visit schedule. He had visited Virginia Tech this spring (where his brother plays DB), Maryland (since he's from the DMV), but was also scheduled to visit LSU and Oregon here coming up soon too. Instead, he stopped it all short and committed to the Buckeyes.
Faheem Delane's playmaking ability
Delane brings great versatility both in coverage and blitzing the passer. He can drop into the box and stuff the run in the backfield, but has the instincts necessary to play deeper safety too. He broke up nearly 20 passes last fall as a junior thanks to his incredible vision, instincts, and break speed to the ball.
He may not have elite long speed, but Delane clearly doesn't need it to make plays in a variety of ways. He's a top 50 recruit in the nation for a reason with great length and height at over 6'2" and 200 pounds already. Delane should be an early contributor for the Buckeyes' secondary.
