The Detroit Lions will be playing preseason football before you know it. Their opening game against the New York Giants is just 58 days away. That game will televised locally, but won't be seen out of Michigan.
Don't worry though. If you're an out of state Lions fan, two of of the Lions preseason games will be nationally televised on NFL Network this year. Their Week 2 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs will show on the network at 4PM ET on Saturday, August 17th and their Week 3 matchup with the Steelers will show in the 1:00 timeslot on Saturday, August 24th.
Don't worry. If you live in Michigan and you do not have this channel and you're worried about a local blackout, the game will still be showing on your local Fox affiliate as it does every year. You'll still be able to tune in. But so will the rest of the country.
This brings the Lions up to 11 nationally televised games in 2024. That is just crazy. The whole country is going to be seeing a lot of this team.
