Detroit Lions provide encouraging new update on Jack Campbell following frightening injury against Vikings, decline to offer more out of resepct
Nearly 24 hours after Jack Campbell was taken to a hospital following a frightening injury against the Vikings, the Detroit Lions have shared an encouraging update while asking for continued privacy.
It’s been a very long nearly 24 hours since Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell suffered a very scary-looking injury on the field at the start of the fourth quarter of the Lions’ 19-15 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
On what looked like a routine tackle, Campbell’s body went limp, and he lay on the field for several minutes while both teams took knees and many players were understandably overcome with emotion.
What we learned on Sunday night was that when Campbell left the stadium, he was alert and breathing. The Lions classified it as a neck injury.
On Monday, the Lions offered a positive update.

On their social media account, the Lions said the following:
Dan Campbell is scheduled to talk to the media at 3:00. We’ll see if any updates are added at that time, but indications now are that the Lions will not be addressing anything further on this front today. Still, this is a positive update.
