The Los Angeles Chargers have officially made a bold move during this offseason. Wait, that already happened with the hire of Jim Harbaugh. Now, they've made another intriguing move with a rookie.

They just gave a unique deal to rookie WR Ladd McConkey. It will make league history.

Ladd McConkey signs rookie contract that makes NFL history

The Chargers and McConkey agreed to a 4-year deal with the most guaranteed money in NFL history for a 34th overall pick, according to Ian Rapoport.

McConkey slots in alongside D.J. Chark, Quentin Johnston, and others at the wide receiver position for LA. As a rookie, it is possible for the former Georgia Bulldog to lead the offense in receiving.

The rookie wideout has impressed the Chargers so far this offseason, especially QB Justin Herbert. McConkey will vie for snaps both outside and in the slot for the Chargers.

"He's just picked up the offense so easily. It's like he's been a four or five-year vet. He understands the game, he understands leverage. He's a smart player, he's very athletic. He can beat man coverage, find the soft spot in zones."

All in all, the Chargers have a ton of confidence in the young wide receiver.

They decided to put their money where their mouth is with this deal to McConkey. Let's see if it pays off.
