NASHVILLE – With the 138th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans have added depth to the secondary by selecting Louisville CB Jarvis Brownlee Jr.
Brownlee is a talented cornerback in press coverage that started 37 games in college between Louisville and Florida State. He was one of the defensive players Tennessee brought in for a 30 visit in Nashville.
He will join the likes of L'Jarius Sneed, Chidobe Awuzie, and Roger McCreary in a reloaded Titans secondary.
Brownlee is praised for his fluid hips in coverage and acceleration when he triggers downhill. He has a great punch at the line of scrimmage and will help the Titans' run defense.
The concerns with Brownlee are deep down the field. He has a tendency to get penalized and beat deep. He will need to improve his patience and anticipation at the next level. For these reasons, Brownlee is probably best suited as a nickel.
In a zoom meeting with Titans media on Saturday, Brownlee said that if he was forced to choose, he'd play nickel in the NFL.
One word to describe his style of play? Aggressive. That's something the Titans have been looking for in their cornerbacks. Chidobe Awuzie and L'Jarius Sneed are both physical, aggressive corners.
Brownlee shined at the Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile and now lands in Tennessee with new defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson.
