The Indianapolis Colts are one of many teams with significant interest in trading for Chiefs CB L'Jarius Sneed.

However, I've been told that a potential trade is currently being held up while the Kansas City Chiefs make an important decision. 

Will the Chiefs trade Sneed?

The Chiefs did allow Sneed to seek out potential trade partners. But that doesn't mean a trade is a lock to happen. I've spoken with multiple sources close to teams interested in trading for Sneed, and each has shared the same sentiment. Trade talks haven't been able to get "serious" yet because teams haven't gotten verification from the Chiefs that they are going to trade Sneed. One source went as far as to say their team hasn't felt comfortable making an official trade offer because the Chiefs are non-committal about moving the corner. 

If the Chiefs decide to trade Sneed, I'm told the market for the CB is prime and ready to pursue the CB aggressively. A big factor will be teams getting the sense that Sneed will sign an extension with his new team. From conversations I've had, I get the sense that all of the teams currently awaiting the Chiefs' decision believe they would be able to extend Sneed if a trade were to be finalized. 

So now, the Colts, along with other interested teams, are waiting to hear from Kansas City before they can discuss adding Sneed to their CB room. The Colts' need at CB is pretty clear, and I think it's fair to ask how long can the Colts or any CB-needy team wait on the Chiefs to add a veteran CB. Multiple CBs have already signed elsewhere, and the last thing the Colts want to happen is they wait on the possibility of Sneed too long and the CB market dries up.
