Despite all the noise surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers and their offseason QB strategy, those close to the team always knew the answer to the problem was in the building.
And while there's still time to figure out if that will be Kenny Pickett or Mason Rudolph…
GM Omar Khan may have just proved Pittsburgh already has their mind made up:
Steelers Have 'Full Faith' in Kenny Pickett
“I have full faith in Kenny,” Khan told the media at the NFL Combine. “He’s shown us some good things. Obviously, there were some issues with the offense and I’m excited about the impact that Arthur Smith is going to have on him. Arthur is very optimistic about Kenny. I know they’ve communicated. We’ll have some strong competition there and we’ll see how it goes.”
Now the interesting part of that quote is the last part, specifically where Khan said, "We’ll have some strong competition there and we’ll see how it goes.”
That's because the only QB on the Steelers roster that is under contract for 2024 is…
Kenny Pickett.
So with a little over a week to go before free agency starts, it will be interesting to see how Pittsburgh attacks the QB position, but it doesn't seem like they will be signing someone to start over Kenny Pickett, or at least not without an uphill battle.
