The New Orleans Saints won't have to stay goodbye to one of their best players anytime soon. In fact, he will probably get to retire in The Big Easy.
The Saints and star linebacker Demario Davis agreed to a new two-year contract worth $17.25 million.
Davis has been a fan favorite for his entire stint in New Orleans. During that time, he has also been one of the most consistent forces at linebacker in the league. He stays healthy, produces, and leads week in and week out.
With the move, Davis helps out the Saints in order for them to become cap compliant before Wednesday's deadline.
After getting the new deal, he is expected to retire as a Saint at the end of the contract.
