The New Orleans Saints got some divisional news on Sunday afternoon. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers extended quarterback Baker Mayfield. He was set to be a free agent, but he will stay in the NFC South.
Saints cornerback Alontae Taylor had the perfect response to the news of Mayfield's new deal.
Clearly, Taylor is poking fun at a rival quarterback simply to stir the pot. Mayfield played very well against New Orleans in the first matchup last season, but he struggled badly in the final matchup of the season against the black and gold.
Taylor snagged an interception in the second game between the two. The entire Saints defense dominated that matchup to keep their playoff chances alive. Ultimately, that did not come to fruition.
That being said, Taylor played very well in the second half of 2023 for New Orleans. There were some inconsistencies, but he consistently bounced back.
Taylor is an important piece to their defense for years to come.
