It's here. The NFL's free agency period has arrived.

The Minnesota Vikings are certainly a team to watch over the next several days, as they currently sit in 14th with more than $37 million in cap space, per Over The Cap. That number can rise even more if the team is able to sign quarterback Kirk Cousins, EDGE Danielle Hunter, or even both, to a new deal before March 13. Update: Cousins agreed to terms with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday.

Either way, moves will be made and guys will be paid. Make sure you're keeping up with everything along the way.

Minnesota Vikings' free agency moves in 2024

Re-signings

  • TE Johnny Mundt – Mundt re-signed with the Vikings on Friday, March 8, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Terms of the deal are still unknown, at this time.
  • TE Nick Muse – Muse re-signed on March 5. Terms are unknown, right now.
  • S Theo Jackson – He was the first impending free agent to re-sign with the team, even though he was an ERFA. That was back on February 21.
  • OL David Quessenberry – He started four games last season and was re-signed on Monday, March 11.
  • OL Blake Brandel – He was a restricted free agent that started two games last season.

Additions

  • DE Jonathan Greenard The Vikings wanted to add to their defensive line and they went out and got one of the top free agents at the position. Per ESPN, he inked a four-year deal worth $72 million.
  • LB Andrew Van Ginkel – More pass rush, please! AVG is coming off a career-high 6.0 sacks and reunites with Brian Flores, who drafted him back in 2019. He signed for two-years, $20 million.
  • LB Blake Cashmore – Minnesota is improving the defensive side of the ball early in free agency, which makes sense after last year's disastrous finish. It's a three-year deal worth up to $25.5 million.
  • QB Sam Darnold – Could this be Darnold's team in 2024? We'll see. He'll definitely have a chance to start, evidenced by his one-year deal worth up to $10 million.
  • K John Parker Romo The former XFL kicker is trying to find a home in the NFL.

Departures

  • QB Kirk Cousins The veteran quarterback will join the Atlanta Falcons after agreeing to a four-year, $180 million deal.
  • EDGE Marcus Davenport Things didn't work out in Minnesota, so Davenport is joining the Lions on a one-year deal that has $6.5 million in base salary and is worth $10.5 million after incentives.

We will continue to update this post as new information comes in.
