The Minnesota Vikings are keeping one of their own. Head coach Kevin O'Connell will be happy about their decision.
According to Tom Pelissero, the Vikings agreed to terms with tight end Johnny Mundt on a new deal.
Last year, O'Connell called him the league's best number three TE. He understands the depth that he brings to their offense and scheme.
Mundt is a physical blocker that has shown to be a capable pass catcher when needed, too. He's totaled 36 receptions for 312 yards and two touchdowns in two seasons with Minnesota.
Starting tight end T.J. Hockenson has dealt with some serious injuries in recent seasons, so keeping a player with familiarity in their system makes a ton of sense.
