The Pittsburgh Steelers were in full pads again today, aiming to end camp on a physical note.

The penultimate practice of 2023 Steelers training camp, the team played with intensity and passion.

Here are the main takeaways from day 15 in Latrobe:

Mt. Washington

An impressive display of athleticism from the mountain of a man that is Darnell Washington, this highlight catch wasn't the feature of the day, but rather a route where he beat Minkah Fitzpatrick across face for the Grab in one on one's.

If he's doing that kind of thing to the best safety in the league, all I have to say is good luck to the defenses on Pittsburgh's schedule.

Defense Dominates Again

Seemingly the theme of the week, Pittsburgh's defense won the day again, providing a consistent pass rush and making the offense incur missed assignments, penalties, and mental errors that lead to an easy day for the defense.

Struggling to separate from the DBs, and having no chance to block the defensive line, hopefully, this is just a learning process for the first-team offense, seeing as they are facing potentially the league's best unit on the other side of the ball.

Pickens loves the Middle of the Field

Getting better as a route runner by the rep, watching Pickens work his stem to an advantageous position that stacks the corner and allows him to accelerate is a beautiful thing to watch.

It's something he put on full display last Friday, and will surely be continuing heading into the regular season.

Have a day Valladay

Xazavian Valladay was an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State that signed with the Houston Texans after Aprils' draft. He was recently released by the team and then signed by Pittsburgh just days ago.

Well, he made his presence felt in camp today, showing off a burst through the hole that others in the room lack, and providing to be a handful for linebackers thanks to his hard running style.

Certainly, a longshot to make the roster, Valladay will have to do the extraordinary to stick in Pittsburgh, but today was a good start.

Good as Golden (Injury Updates)

Following a veteran day off, free agent signing Markus Golden was back on the practice field today. The same could not be said for starting defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi however nor offensive lineman Nate Herbig.

Hopefully they won't be out much longer though, as the days dwindle towards seasons start.

And that's a wrap on day 15 of Pittsburgh Steelers Training Camp in Latrobe. It seemed like just yesterday the Steelers were reporting to camp, arriving in style and ready to work over the past three weeks.

But tomorrow is the 16th and final practice in 2023 before the Steelers close off sessions to the media and get ready for kickoff in a little over three weeks. A final chance to make an impression in Latrobe, expect tomorrow to be one of the more intense days of camp.
