The Indianapolis Colts are reuniting with a former starter of the team just days removed from the start of training camp on July 25th.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Colts are signing defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad to a one-year contract.
Muhammad is no stranger to Indianapolis having spent most of his career with the Colts. Between 2018 and 2021, Muhammad played 64 games in that span. In his final year with the team, he started all 17 games while racking up six sacks, 13 QB hits, and seven tackles for loss.
Colts unveil new look featuring alternate helmets
The Indianapolis Colts unveiled an alternate uniform set that features a new helmet to be worn in the 2023 NFL season.
The Colts have since gotten better at edge rusher and will likely star Kwity Paye and Samson Ebukam this season but Muhammad should go a long way in boosting the defense's depth.
Last year, the Colts finished 15th in pressure rate per Pro Football Reference. The team's pass rush will need to be on point next year as the inexperienced secondary will need all the help it can get.
Muhammad has 34 career starts and spent the 2022 season with the Chicago Bears, where he played in 55% of the defensive snaps, the most for any defensive end on the team.
