The New England Patriots have locked down their top two rookies.
The Patriots agreed to terms with first round pick Christian Gonzalez and second round pick Keion White, the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed reports.
Gonzalez was signed to a four year, $15,102,868 fully-guaranteed contract. This includes a $7,983,904 signing bonus along with roster bonuses for all four years, Kyed added.
As for White, he was signed to a $7,790,170 four-year contract with a $2,665,576 signing bonus. He is set to make $750,000 and $1,104,099 in 2023 and 2024 respectively, which are both fully guaranteed.
A cornerback out of Oregon, Gonzalez has already impressed during the Spring and is sure to help the defense. He, along with White, were the final two rookies to agree to their contracts.
The rookies reported to training camp on Friday, with the deal being announced later that day.
So, I think it’s safe to say it was a fairly successful first day back.
