It's rumor season for the Indianapolis Colts. Especially at quarterback, where the franchise is widely expected to select their next signal caller early in next month's NFL Draft.
However, those are not only rumors circuiting about the Colts. One that recently popped up on Twitter is about All-Pro defensive tackle DeForest Buckner wanting out and requesting a trade.
Buckner caught wind of the speculation and shut it down in an epic way. He responded to the tweet with a gif from Wolf of Wall Street. That should clear any of that up.
Buckner, of course, is one of the most important players on the roster for the Colts. He has proven to be a difference-making talent in the trenches with his ability to impact the game in different ways.
He has earned multiple Pro Bowl nods in his career and has an All-Pro selection to his name. Last season, Buckner started 16 games in Indianapolis, making 74 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and eight sacks. The value he brings to the defense is evident.
While it may be tempting to move Buckner for a haul in return, the Indianapolis Colts would be wise to keep their talented defender on the roster. The Colts have enough talent to make some noise in the AFC South – especially if they get the quarterback position right.
In the meantime, Buckner went to social media to shut down any of the speculation that he could be playing elsewhere next season. The Colts could use some positive news, and that certainly qualifies as such.
DeForest Buckner is a game-changing talent, and the Indianapolis Colts are better off with him making plays for them and not somebody else.
