Tremaine Edmunds is no longer a Buffalo Bill. The talented linebacker has agreed to a deal with the Chicago Bears.

Edmunds, drafted by Buffalo in 2017, has been an important piece on a dominant defense since his arrival. What's more, the year Edmunds was drafted was the same year Josh Allen was selected. At first, it appeared that the Bills had selected their defensive and offensive cornerstones in the same draft. The NFL loves its storylines and this had all the makings for another perfect story.

Josh Allen drafted 7th and Edmunds 16th, 716 is the area code for Buffalo, it was perfect.

Alas, with free agency underway Buffalo either didn't want to pay the steep price for Edmunds, or they felt like they could match his production elsewhere. Regardless, Tremaine Edmunds will start a new chapter of his career.

Edmunds was a powerful yet quiet leader who was part of one of the best defenses in the NFL throughout his tenure in Buffalo. Edmunds, drafted before turning 20, has a ton of experience in the league despite his age.

Fans, admittedly, were hard on the linebacker at times, expecting much more from the talented linebacker than what he produced.

Nevertheless, Edmunds quickly went viral after posting a goodbye message to the city of Buffalo and the Bills Mafia. The young linebacker discussed what made the city so special and oozed gratitude with a simple, yet powerful message.

"Buffalo is a special city that will always by close to my heart. I appreciate the fans, the coaches, and the entire Buffalo community for embracing me and my family." Edmunds continued, thanking the owners of the Bills and thanking everyone for his five years in Buffalo.

It's going to be hard to replicate what Edmunds did on the field, it's going to be even more difficult to replicate the leadership and professionalism he worked with.

Brandon Beane has his work cut out for him to try and replace Edmunds.
