There has been a lot of promising developments for the Indianapolis Colts this offseason. Hiring a new head coach in Shane Steichen and drafting a new franchise quarterback in Anthony Richardson are the headliners.

But not everything has gone to plan. Just this week, it was revealed that defensive back Isaiah Rodgers gambled on games and his status for the upcoming season is in doubt. Now, it is being reported that the Colts have suffered another notable loss.

Colts director of research John Park was hired by the Dallas Cowboys to be the team's director of strategic football operations, according to a report from ESPN's Seth Walder.

Park had been with the organization since 2016 and played a significant role inside the building. Especially when working next to general manager Chris Ballard. He was heavily involved with data and analytics for the Colts.

Additionally, Park had a hand in games, free agency, and even the NFL Draft. It is clear that Ballard trusted him with a lot of responsibility. Now, the franchise is tasked with filling the void that he leaves.

As ESPN and Indianapolis Colts insider Stephen Holder notes, this is not the first personnel member to leave the franchise this offseason. Former Colts head coach Frank Reich hired senior football strategy analyst George Li, too.

The NFL continues to put more of an emphasis on analytics. Ballard has been a proponent of that movement, and he will surely fill the positions with qualified hires. If anything, these moves highlight where the Colts are catching the attention of the rest of the league.
