Mac Jones Mandatory Minicamp

Foxboro, Mass. – Mac Jones might be getting an additional weapon and he is certainly not upset about the possibility.

DeAndre Hopkins is reportedly scheduled to visit with the New England Patriots this week while the team hosts mandatory minicamp on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Joining many of his fellow teammates, Jones is on board with the team signing Hopkins.

“I think that’s definitely a hypothetical, but I think DeAndre’s a great player,” Jones said. “You watch his film from college all the way through the NFL, he’s done a great job. So obviously, we’d love to have him. But we do have a great group of guys."

Along with Jones, Bill Belichick also spoke about Hopkins prior to Monday's practice, confirming that the team was in contact. However, he did not mention if or exactly what day Hopkins would be visiting and did not provide any additional specifics.

Hopkins visit to the Patriots come after the free-agent receiver visited the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, while also making sure he had time to stop at CMA Music Festival and see Tim McGraw.

If he were to sign, the next question would be who the Patriots would release.

Jones is just the latest Patriots player to comment on Hopkins, with Kendrick Bourne giving a pitch to recruit the receiver last week.

With that, Matthew Judon is also highly in favor of Hopkins moving to New England, willing to pay up if he were to sign

Now it's time to see if all these recruiting efforts are successful.
