DeAndre Hopkins visiting the Patriots

The New England Patriots are one step closer to signing the star receiver.

While Bill Belichick would not confirm whether or what days DeAndre Hopkins was going to visit with the Patriots, an NFL insider was able to shine some more light.

NFL Network Ian Rapoport reports that Hopkins will visit with the Patriots on Wednesday and Thursday.

This comes after Hopkins had a very successful visit with the Tennessee Titans.

On Monday, Belichick was asked about a potential Hopkins visit prior to the first day of mandatory minicamp, but only said that the Patriots were in contact with him.

"Talked to him,” Belichick said. “Working through it. Not sure."

However, he was quick to shut down any questions regarding when the visit would be.

“I’m not really a travel agent,” he deadpanned.

Following Monday's minicamp, the Patriots released running back James Robinson and defensive back Tae Hayes, freeing up two spots on the 90-man roster. One of those spots might have Hopkins name on it.

Many of the Patriots players are on board with the star receiver joining the Patriots, with Kendrick Bourne and Mac Jones having recently spoken with the media about the possibility.

And with that, Matthew Judon is among a few fellow teammates and former Patriots players who are willing to pay up if Hopkins were signed by New England.

Judon, Mack Wilson Sr. and LeGarrette Blount are all willing to pay $500 to a charity of Hopkins choosing if he signs with the Patriots.

While the Titans allowed Hopkins to leave without a contract, it will be interesting to see if Hopkins leaves New England without a contract as well.
