Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had an unforgettable Super Bowl performance this past weekend.
That's exactly what folks shouldn't do. They shouldn't forget that he played as well as he did on the biggest stage and was quite close to walking home with the Lombardi.
The Eagles QB totaled 374 all-purpose yards, four touchdowns, and a massive two-point conversion in the loss. He single-handedly helped Philly stay in a game against an offense that has been at the top of the sport all season.
Hurts went toe-to-toe with Patrick Mahomes, and the Chiefs quarterback gave him his flowers after the fantastic matchup.
Mahomes is correct.
Hurts proved that he can absolutely put a team on his back to put up enough points that probably would have beat any other team in the Super Bowl last night.
The Eagles will look to sign him to a long-term extension during this off-season. It is a task that GM Howie Roseman and company need to get done.
Hurts is the QB and leader the Philly needs for years to come. His performance in the Super Bowl proved that more than ever.
It was awesome to see Patrick Mahomes give Hurts the respect that some people still refuse to give him.
