Despite playing for the New York Giants, Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor is one of the NFL’s all-time greats. In a sport with constant debate, everyone seems to agree that Taylor is the best defender in the history of the game.
That being said, Taylor has his own opinion on which four defenders should be mentioned along with him on a list of the top five best defensive players in NFL history. LT joined the I AM ATHLETE podcast to lay out his list.
Coming in at No. 2 on the list was Philadelphia Eagles legend Reggie White. Taylor never even had to think about his answer.
Following White was Deacon Jones at three, Deion Sanders checked in at four and Ronnie Lott rounded at the group in the fifth spot.

Not everybody will agree, especially the players from this generation, but Taylor has earned the right to have a say on this matter. Though he’s not at the top of the list, Eagles fans have to be pretty satisfied to see White check in right behind Taylor.
