On Wednesday, the Indianapolis Colts saw multiple key starters miss practice.

It'll be important for their chances of playing in Week 8 to show some progress on Thursday and/or Friday before they take the field on Sunday.

While the team hasn't announced it yet, CB Juju Brents is expected to be inactive. There is optimism around TE Kylen Granson, though, as he is at the final step of the NFL's concussion protocol and has three days to get cleared. The biggest mystery will be around RT Braden Smith, who has missed the last two weeks with multiple injury designations. If he can't go, it'll be another start for rookie Blake Freeland.

Thursday Injury Report:

Light Participant:

  • Zack Moss

The Colts got Moss back to practice today. While Moss may not be viewed as the starter anymore with Jonathan Taylor returning, his strong start to the 2023 is hard to ignore. He sits at 2nd in the NFL in rushing yards heading into Week 8. And I think it's safe to assume the team will use the two-headed RB approach the rest of the season.

Did Not Practice:

  • Juju Brents
  • Braden Smith
  • Kylen Granson
  • Eric Johnson

The Colts are still waiting for Granson to clear the final step in the league's concussion protocol. And now haven't had Braden Smith for over a week of practices in total, and his chances for Sunday will creep into the doubtful world if he doesn't return to practice on Friday.
