Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has been through a lot in his career. The Rams very publicly gave up on him after the 2020 season and traded him to the Lions. It was thought that he was nothing more than a bridge guy that the Lions would just move on from. 

In year three he led the Lions to their first NFC North championship ever and the Lions first divsion title since 1993. After all that, Goff was understandably emotional in his post game interview with NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. 

 Goff didn't light up the Vikings like he did the Broncos, but he had a very productive game on Sunday. He completed 75% of his passes for 257 yards and a touchdown. He handled the pressure very well and the Lions were able to win because of it. 

There is no doubt in my mind that Jared Goff is going to be the quarterback of this Lions team for a long time. He's earned that extension.
