While the Detroit Lions have yet to break the news, it would appear that the Lions and defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs have parted ways with each other. Buggs posted his thankyous and goodbyes on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.

No word yet on why the Lions made this move, but it could have to do with the Lions needing to make room for the retuning C.J. Gardner-Johnson, James Houston, Jason Cabinda and Alim McNeill. Plus the possibility of adding Bruce Irvin to the main roster. Hard decisions needed to be made.

The other thing is that the Lions and Buggs have been all over the headlines since the Lions benched Buggs to start the season. He's had on and off spurts of playing time since then and he's struggled to recapture the great play he ended 2022 with.

Buggs will hit the waiver wire and if he goes unclaimed, he'll be a free agent and can sign with any team he likes. There could be a team out there that's looking for a veteran lineman for the playoffs. I wish him the best of luck.
