I was in the press box last Sunday to cover the Detroit Lions playoff win over the Rams and I can say with certainty that I have never been inside of a louder stadium than that. It was so loud that the reporter next to me told me about how he went to see Metallica at Ford Field in the fall and it wasn't as loud as it was on Sunday. I could barely hear him telling me that by the way.

It was so loud that it affected what the Rams were able to do in the game. They had to take two of their three second half timeouts early and ultimately that hurt them big after the two minute warning when Amon-Ra St. Brown got the first down and ended the game.

It was so loud that Rams players warned their former teammate Baker Mayfield about how loud it's going to be.

"Just talking to some of those Rams guys, they said it was the loudest thing they've ever heard." Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield said. "We've got to be completely ready for that. It just comes down to everybody knowing exactly what our gameplan is – all the calls to and from, because there could be certain times where they can't hear certain things. They might have to plug and play some of the words. [It's] just everybody doing the mental work to get prepped for that, but it shouldn't be a surprise for us. It's going to be a great atmosphere."

Lions fans broke the Ford Field decibel record on Sunday when they hit a rate of 133.6. That was during the the announcement of the starting lineups. I watched the decibels all night and Lions fans were easily at 115-120 the entire time. They have to bring it like this again. You never know when your next home playoff game will be and this one can get your team to the NFC championship game. So make sure you drink your tea with honey for the rest of the week and get those vocal cords ready to go. The Lions are going to need them again.

4 Lions that can have the most success against the Buccaneers

Here we go. The Detroit Lions have moved on to the next round in the playoffs and they will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home this Sunday.  The Lions faced this Bucs team once already in Week 6 in Tampa Bay. They were able to walk out of that one with a 20-6 win. […]
