The Jacksonville Jaguars picked up their third win of the season in Week 14, and to make it even sweeter, it was against a divisional rival, the Tennessee Titans.

While this win must feel good for the players and coaches in the locker room after a brutal season to date, the reality is that it could end up costing them something much more important in the long run.

Jaguars drop in the 2025 NFL Draft order after Week 14 win over Titans

Heading into Week 14, the Jaguars held the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Their win over the Titans, though, took the top pick out of the Jaguars' hands as they fell to fifth in the upcoming draft order. And with the 2024 season already being a failure for the team, losing out on that pick could end up being a giant mistake.

The Jaguars won't be among the teams in the market for a quarterback. So, if they landed the pick, they would have the choice between using it on a different position or trading it to the highest bidder. If they kept the pick, a popular player mocked to the Jaguars has been Colorado two-way phenom Travis Hunter. The favorite to win this year's Heisman trophy has the ability to be a next-level talent as both a wide receiver and a cornerback, both positions the Jaguars would love to add talent during this offseason.

But with the team's win in Week 14, their path to Hunter or a robust trade package from a QB-needy team is now in jeopardy. And with their future currently having more questions than answers, I have a hard time believing this win will be worth it in the long run. Especially since it most likely will not be enough to save the current coaching staff from being fired after this season comes to an end.
