Having one of the best kickers in football is an aspect often overlooked for teams around college football or the NFL. For the Los Angeles Chargers, their kicker has become a fan favorite and well-known around the league.

Cameron Dicker is one of the top kickers in the game and took another step toward NFL immortality in Week 2.

Cameron Dicker becomes most accurate kicker in NFL history

With his first field goal make in the team’s Monday Night Football win over the Raiders, Dicker became the most accurate kicker in league history with a minimum of 100 attempts. Justin Tucker previously led this statistic at 89.103 percent. Dicker’s career field goal percentage so far is now just over 94% (95 of 101 FGs made).

The Chargers boot made two field goals against Vegas and is 4-4, overall, this season. As a former undrafted free agent and previously cut by the Philadelphia Eagles, Dicker’s jump to kicker stardom is awesome for him and LA. Dicker is also 97-100 on extra point attempts in his career.

“It’s cool. In the moment, it’s a cool thing and it’s going to be a huge honor for me,” Dicker said before Week 1. “But at the same time, I’m hoping this is the first of many kicks.”

“We got a lot more coming hopefully down the line, so continuing to build on previous seasons and try continue success,” Dicker added. — Los Angeles Chargers

Dicker has become the definition of consistency in the kicking game for the Bolts. For a team who cycled through plenty of kickers in the seasons just before adding Dicker to the mix, it has been refreshing for the team and its fans. Los Angeles will surely (again) push for him to be in the Pro Bowl this year.

Plus, he now has a piece of NFL history that none of his teammates have a chance to take from him. When you play on a team with Justin Herbert, Derwin James, Keenan Allen, among others, that’s pretty cool and impressive for Dicker.
