‘Florida will get up for this game’ – National analyst predicts if the Tennessee Vols will beat the Gators in the Swamp
Can the Tennessee Vols end their losing streak to the Florida Gators in Gainesville? The Vols have lost 10 in a row to the Gators in the Swamp.
The Tennessee Vols will head to Gainesville this weekend hoping to end a losing streak that dates back to 2003.
Tennessee hasn’t beaten Florida in the Swamp since Ron Zook was roaming the sidelines in Gainesville.
The Vols are 7-3 this season with losses to Georgia, Alabama, and Oklahoma. Florida, meanwhile, is 3-7. The Gators fired head coach Billy Napier earlier this season.
National college football analyst predicts if the Tennessee Vols will beat the Florida Gators in the Swamp
On3’s JD PicKell made his prediction on Tuesday for the upcoming matchup between the Gators and the Vols.
PicKell has Tennessee breaking the curse and winning in the Swamp for the first time in 22 years.
“History is reliable and history is a great teacher, but correlation is not causation,” said PicKell. “Josh Heupel is one of the best coaches in college football. Florida will get up for this game, but are they up for this game in the fourth quarter when DeSean Bishop is starting to really have some tread on the tires?
“Also, [Florida] just had a tough loss to Ole Miss that you wonder a little bit was that the last song for Billy G (Gonzales) and the boys when it comes to exerting that extra effort? Florida will be up for this because they hate Tennessee. But Tennessee will get a culture win. They will get a finish the trip kind of win. They will get a curse breaking win in the Swamp. Tennessee, for the first time since 2003, slays the dragon. The modern dragon that is, of course, an alligator. They get it done in the Swamp. Tennessee wins the game outright. We’ll take Tennessee to cover as well….Tennessee wins. Tennessee covers. The streak is over in the Swamp for the Vols.”
Vols fans are certainly hoping that PicKell’s prediction is correct, but no one wearing orange will feel good about Tennessee winning this game until the clock hits 0:00 and UT has more points than the Gators.
Tennessee and Florida are set to kick off at 7:30 PM ET on Saturday in Gainesville.
