The Florida Gators have nailed the early signing period, and Jon Sumrall is proving that he’s the right man for the job.

Jon Sumrall and Florida Gators sign 15 players to letters of intent
There are three other commitments who didn’t sign on Wednesday, but are still trending toward signing with the Gators.
- Four-star S Kaiden Hall
- Four-star CB C.J. Hester
- Three-star TE Kekua Aumua
Hall has been planning to sign on Friday, while Hester (Iowa) and Aumua (Washington and Auburn) could be swayed before they sign.
The biggest win for the Gators was keeping the recruiting class together after firing head coach Billy Napier in October. New head coach Jon Sumrall and the coaching staff as a whole have done a great job in maintaining the class. Of the 19 recruits who committed to Napier before he was let go, 15 signed, three are likely to sign, and four-star running back Carsyn Baker decommitted but is still considering the Gators.
It’s an impressive job for the Gators, but there is still work to be done. They will need at least one or two more players on the defensive line, depth at running back, and potentially a linebacker and a safety. Sumrall has proven in his short time that he’s up for the challenge, and there will be a lot of work to do moving forward.
As things stand right now, they rank 13th per Rivals, which is a really big win for the Gators, who have a shocking amount of talent for a 4-8 team.
