Bills quarterback Josh Allen gets an immediate injury update from the team after needing X-rays following loss vs. Eagles
Anytime your franchise quarterback needs to get X-rays, it’s easy to get a little concerned. Breathe easy, Bills Mafia.
The Buffalo Bills lost a heartbreaker to the Philadelphia Eagles. Make no mistake, it was an ugly showing from the offense and quarterback Josh Allen for about 90% of the contest. In a strange turn of events, it was the defense that kept Buffalo in the matchup.
Late in the fourth quarter, the team went for a two-point conversion but came up short. The reigning MVP flat-out missed, drawing a wave of criticism online.
Allen appeared to be in clear pain after one of the many times he was brought down by Vic Fangio’s defense, which had five sacks on the day. Those concerns followed him into the postgame.

Joe Buscaglia, Bills beat reporter for The Athletic, shared the concerning initial update on X.
Fortunately for the beloved fanbase, they wouldn’t have to wait long to hear the status of Allen’s injury.
“He got sore again [ . . . ] X-rays were negative [ . . . ] but he’s sore,” McDermott said.
Regardless of him missing the throw and having a poor performance on Sunday, losing him long-term would be devastating. Yes, Allen missed a wide-open receiver for the ballgame; it was bad, but Allen is still as elite as they come. The reigning MVP finished his day going 23-for-35 for 262 yards with seven carries for 27 yards and two touchdowns.
The Bills fell to the Eagles 13-12, dropping Buffalo to 11-5 on the season and locking them in as the No. 7 spot in the upcoming NFL playoffs. It’s looking as though Buffalo will be taking on the New England Patriots for the third time this season in the opening round.
The standard is still championship-level, and No. 17 remains the engine that makes it all go, despite reverting to his “sugar high” Josh moments at times during the season. One missed throw and one brutal loss don’t change his role in what makes the offense tick. He should be fine, and the team would do well to maybe throw some bubble wrap on him for the season finale, red helmets and all.
