The Minnesota Vikings are hoping to get a win to finish out the season against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon. The biggest question has been with the quarterbacks in this game. J.J. McCarthy for the Vikings, along with Jordan Love and Malik Willis for the Packers, all appeared on the first injury report.

We got some clarity on Thursday morning with the Packers, as Love has cleared concussion protocol, but Clayton Tune will get the start against the Vikings.

Vikings to face Packers QB Clayton Tune in Week 18

We knew that the Packers were going to rest some players on Sunday because they are locked into the seventh seed, but Love hasn’t played since suffering the concussion in their Week 16 loss to the Chicago Bears. Willis got hurt against the Baltimore Ravens, came out of the game, went back in, and came out when the Ravens went up 17 points.

Tune was a seventh-round pick out of Houston in the 2023 NFL Draft and has gotten a decent amount of playing time. He’s appeared in 14 games, but only thrown 27 passes, completing 15 of them for 78 yards and three interceptions. That doesn’t seem like a recipe for success.

It especially could be a brutal game on Sunday due to defensive coordinator Brian Flores. He thrives in attacking the quarterback, and he will have a field day attacking Tune with his blitz packages and simulated pressures.

The odds for a Vikings winning season just went up.
